BOTOX

BOTOX, also known as Botulinum Toxin, is an FDA approved injectable treatment which was developed to temporarily treat the visual signs of aging. BOTOX is a popular way to smooth fine lines and keep new wrinkles from developing so the face can maintain its youthfulness. BOTOX is a prescription medicine that is injected into the muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and moderate to severe crow’s feet lines in adults.

At Laser Aesthetics of Colorado, we devise a treatment plan for each of our Centennial BOTOX patients to help them achieve their desired look with the fewest injections possible.

Candidates for BOTOX

  • Patients with deep lines on their face, especially between the eyes, that create a “tired” appearance
  • Patients with asymmetry in their eyebrows or face
  • Patients with wrinkles caused by the repetition of facial expressions

About BOTOX

BOTOX injections are able to provide subtle change that yields a rejuvenated appearance to the face with little, if any downtime. Our Centennial BOTOX patients report the injections are mostly painless and years of use and study have eliminated nearly all risks associated with the injections. The effects of the injections typically last three to six months. If the injected area is especially sensitive, there is a risk of temporary, minor bruising.

How BOTOX Injections are Administered

For most patients, BOTOX can be administered at the same appointment as the initial consultation. After deciding on a desired result, we help our patients come to a decision on how many injections are needed and where. The injection site is thoroughly cleaned prior to the injection and no anesthesia is required. The needles used to administer the botulinum toxin are extremely short and thin, resulting in very minimal discomfort.

After all injections have been administered it takes a few days for the full effect of the injections to occur. Since the effects of BOTOX are temporary, many of our Centennial BOTOX patients schedule follow-up and maintenance appointments.
