JUVÉDERM VOLUMA was developed specifically to treat the midface by adding volume that is lost due to natural aging. The loss of volume occurs with varying severity depending on the person, with more drastic volume losses causing significant changes to the appearance of the face. In the past, this lack of volume could only be addressed by surgical procedures that require incisions and a long recovery process. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA allows for a similar rejuvenation to the cheeks and face with just a few simple injections. At Laser Aesthetics of Colorado, we pride ourselves on providing each of our Centennial VOLUMA patients with results that mimic those of a surgical procedure but with a much less invasive approach.
Candidates for VOLUMA
- Patients with a lack of volume in their midface or without especially defined cheekbones
- Patients are generally older than 30 years old
- Patients seeking a volumized appearance to their face without undergoing a surgical procedure
About VOLUMA
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA was the first facial filler developed and FDA approved to include lidocaine, which reduces pain associated with the injections. It is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, meaning it is made of material that occurs naturally in the skin, making it unique among facial fillers. For most patients, VOLUMA lasts as much as twice as long as other fillers that achieve the same desired result. The results of VOLUMA have been reported to last as long as two years.
How VOLUMA is Administered
Prior to administering the injection, the treatment area is thoroughly cleaned and prepared. For some patients, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area about 20 minutes prior to the injection treatment. The decision to use a topical numbing cream is discussed during the consultation phase. The injections are administered through very thin needles and are essentially painless. After all injections are administered, the treated area is gently massaged to distributed the VOLUMA where it is most effective. The entire treatment takes about 20 minutes to complete and our Centennial Voluma patients are able to immediately return to their normal daily activities.
