Enlarged pores are caused by inadequate skin care, genetic predisposition, environmental damage, and aging. Sun damage and gender are contributing factors as well. Males tend to have larger pores than females and women tend to experience enlarged pores during hormonal changes. Pores provide a way for the body to flush out toxins, regulate temperature, and moisturize the skin. However, if they are enlarged they are unsightly and cause the skin to look mature. At Laser Aesthetics of Colorado, our Centennial facial pore reduction (pore tightening) patients report smoother skin, smaller pores and enhanced complexion following laser treatment.

About Facial Pore Reduction
Laser facial pore reduction achieves results by stimulating collagen production deep beneath the surface of the skin. The stimulation of collagen formation provides a rejuvenated aesthetic and function to the skin on the face, resulting in tighter skin and a reduction in pore size. The treatment is quick and painless, and has provided beautiful results for many, many patients. Laser facial pore reduction patients are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment and negative side effects are very uncommon.
How Facial Pore Reduction is Performed
Facial pore reduction treatment is very fast and does not require and topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort. Treatment takes about 15-20 minutes to be completed and leaves patients with the sensation that the skin on their face is tighter, however there won’t be any noticeable difference in appearance until a number of sessions have been completed. We generally recommend a series of roughly six treatments to begin with, followed by routine maintenance treatments. Follow-up treatments can be scheduled at the patient’s discretion, but our Centennial facial pore reduction patients usually schedule additional treatments about four times a year.
